I have never considered myself to be a figurative artist, despite how prominently figures feature in my work. For me, the human form is not just the outline of the subject. I observe the curve of the body or the tilt of the head to not to replicate it but rather to interpret it. When viewed this way, the body becomes the window through which both the individual’s interior and the broader human experience is revealed. That is the motivating force in my practice. My work explores what can be seen in a stranger, or what is hidden, and how those subtle differences inform our experience of life.

I believe we are all in search of ourselves and how we fit into this human family. Quite simply, my work is an effort to understand that puzzle and make it visible.

Try to remember a time when you were dreaming and you became aware that you were dreaming. You were there in the other world and you could do anything you wanted without consequence or judgment - without reason or the limits of logic.
Painting is exactly like that.
